For most buyers, the fastest custom packaging route is to use an existing tray mold, confirm lid fit, then customize carton, label, embossing, or sleeve before considering new tooling.
Custom aluminum foil packaging does not always require a new mold. Many food brands can launch faster by selecting an existing container size and customizing outer cartons, barcodes, labels, sleeves, or embossed branding.
Manufacturing

OEM usually starts from a buyer's target specification, drawing, sample, or brand requirement. ODM usually starts from the factory's existing product range and development experience.

MOQ is not one factory-wide number. A plain tray from an existing mold may start with a production-friendly trial quantity, while a printed retail pack, embossed logo, special coating, dedicated lid, new tool, or low-volume mixed SKU adds a separate material or setup minimum. Break the project into tray, lid, artwork, carton, tooling, and shipment MOQs before negotiating a launch plan.
A quotation may call one number the MOQ even though the constraint comes from printed cartons, purchased lids, coil preparation, press setup, or an efficient export load. Ask for a component-by-component explanation so a flexible tray order is not accidentally tied to a much higher packaging minimum.
Quality Guide
A useful pre-shipment inspection starts with the approved sample and order specification, then records the sampling plan, defect limits, nine checklist items, measurements, functional tests, and final pass, hold, or corrective-action decision.
Before cartons are opened, the inspector should confirm which lot is being checked and which controlled documents apply. The working report may contain buyer, order, item, and packing references, but those fields belong in the confidential project file rather than on a public website.
